Student AI Engineer - Conversational AI

We are looking for a curious and driven Student AI Engineer to join our Conversational AI team and help develop the next generation of AI-powered customer experiences at Danske Bank
This is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience with modern AI engineering, Generative AI, cloud technologies, and software development practices while working alongside experienced AI Engineers and Data Scientists on solutions used by millions of customers
Responsibilities
- check_circle Building and maintaining AI-powered applications and services
- check_circle Developing integrations between LLMs, APIs, databases, and internal platforms
- check_circle Supporting the development of chatbots, knowledge assistants, and AI agents
- check_circle Assisting with the implementation of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions
- check_circle Developing and testing workflows using technologies such as Azure AI, OpenAI, LangChain, and vector databases
- check_circle Writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
- check_circle Supporting CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and operationalization of AI solutions
- check_circle Helping improve our development practices, tooling, and engineering standards
Basic qualifications
- Are currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
- Have a strong interest in AI, software engineering, and cloud technologies
- Are comfortable programming in Python
- Have basic knowledge of software development principles, APIs, and databases
- Enjoy building solutions and bringing ideas into production
- Are curious, structured, and motivated to learn
- Thrive in a collaborative team environment
- Can work approximately 15–20 hours per week alongside your studies
Preferred qualifications
- Large Language Models (GPT, Claude, Llama, etc.)
- Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms
- APIs, microservices, and containerization technologies
- Vector databases and RAG architectures
- LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or similar AI frameworks
- Git and collaborative software development practices
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
