About Hyper

We're here to build the next Disney by letting anyone make their own. Avatar content (also known as VTubing) has broken into the multi-billion-view-per-month category on places like Twitch and YouTube. This has given a new group of people the power to tell stories and present themselves on their own terms online while also protecting their IRL identities. But VTubing is expensive and complicated: it usually requires a PC, custom models, and specialized hardware.

Hyper (YCW21) is an avatar social network (currently on iOS) that makes it easy to start making avatar content without the expensive PC, motion capture hardware, or specialized software. Just build an avatar, shoot, and use our tooling to start telling your story right on your phone.

About the role

💻 You'll be leading the development of machine learning services that power our avatar creation suite. From generative animation to more powerful text-based storytelling tools: you'll help shape the next generation of this new fast-growing content format.

📙 You should have 3-5+ years of professional experience implementing papers, preparing data, training, building, and deploying machine learning services, or equivalent experience in public personal projects.

📈 You'll be joining a small team focused on a fast growing product. As individuals interested in a variety of things from augmented and virtual reality, to games, & interactive media – but our goal is to put Disney & Pixar level tools in the hands of everyday avatar creators.

🌎 Hyper is ~6 people right now and we're fully remote, with a few folks in California. California is still preferred right now, but we're happy to talk with folks from anywhere.

🎨 You'll get to look at exciting 3D art all day and help drive this format as a new medium.
