We are seeking a Senior AI Application Security Engineer to join our team and help secure digital products, data platforms, analytics solutions, and AI-enabled services across the Digital, Data & AI landscape.

This role requires a strong technical background in application security, cloud security, software development, and modern engineering practices, combined with an understanding of the unique security challenges associated with data platforms, machine learning, and Generative AI technologies.

As a Senior AI Application Security Engineer, you will partner closely with Product Managers, Architects, DevOps, Data & AI Engineers, AI Engineers to embed security throughout the software, data, and AI development lifecycles. You will provide hands-on technical leadership, helping teams implement secure-by-design and secure-by-default principles while balancing business objectives, innovation, and risk.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead security initiatives across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Data Development Lifecycle (DDLC), and AI/ML development lifecycle
  • Conduct and facilitate security requirements gathering, threat modeling, and secure design reviews for applications, APIs, cloud services, data platforms, machine learning solutions, and AI-enabled products.
  • Lead security architecture, design, code reviews, and verification providing practical recommendations that enable secure innovation and delivery.
  • Drive software supply chain security practices to ensure protection against code, build, package, container, model, and artifact tampering across CI/CD and MLOps pipelines.
  • Assess and mitigate security risks associated with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions, including prompt injection, model poisoning, sensitive data exposure, insecure model deployment, and AI supply chain risks.
  • Support the secure adoption of Generative AI technologies, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions, AI Agents, and emerging AI capabilities.
  • Advocate for and implement security controls across cloud-native environments, including Azure services, Kubernetes platforms, containers, APIs, and platform services.
  • Develop reusable security standards, patterns, guardrails, and reference architectures that improve security outcomes and accelerate secure delivery.
  • Mentor engineers, architects, and practitioners, promoting secure-by-design, secure-by-default, and shared accountability principles.
  • Demonstrate proactive leadership by coordinating stakeholders, driving security outcomes, and delivering measurable risk reduction across applications, data platforms, and AI initiatives.

ARE THESE YOUR SECRET INGREDIENTS?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in information security and 2+ years in software development.
  • At least one Cyber Security related certification, (e.g. ISC2 CISSP, EC-Council CEH, ISACA’s CSX, Microsoft Azure Security Associate, AWS Certified Security Specialty).
  • Any Application Security certification, (e.g. EC-Council CASE, ISC2 CSSLP, OffSec OWSA, GIAC CWAD).
  • Any AI Security certification (e.g. Certified AI Security Professional Practical DevSecOps)
  • Deep understanding of enterprise, cloud and cloud-native architectures, including applications, APIs, data platforms, analytics solutions and AI services.
  • Skilled in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, C#) with experience conducting code reviews, threat modeling and security design assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of application security best practices, including OWASP Top 10, OWASP ASVS, secure coding principles and Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud and cloud-native technologies (Azure, Kubernetes, Containers), identity and access management, and software supply chain security.
  • Strong understanding of AI and machine learning security concepts, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, RAG architectures, MLOps and common AI threats such as prompt injection and model poisoning.
  • Experience conducting security reviews and technical assessments for AI-powered applications, copilots, agents, and automation solutions.
  • Hands-on experience integrating and operating security controls such as SAST, DAST, SCA, Secrets Scanning, Container Security and Infrastructure-as-Code Scanning within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in performing security testing, risk assessments and security reviews across applications, APIs, cloud-native services, data platforms and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps and modern engineering practices, with the ability to balance business objectives and security requirements through pragmatic, risk-based recommendations.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot Studio and Microsoft Foundry, including the security considerations associated with developing, deploying, and operating AI-powered solutions.
  • Understanding of data governance, data privacy and established AI security frameworks such as OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, MITRE ATLAS and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.

  • Strong command of English language, written and verbal.
