Applied AI / Generative AI Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• check_circle Design and develop production-ready applications powered by Large Language Models;
• check_circle Build RAG pipelines covering data ingestion, chunking, indexing, retrieval, reranking and response generation;
• check_circle Develop AI agents and workflows that interact with APIs, tools, databases and external services;
• check_circle Integrate OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Vertex AI, open-source or self-hosted models;
• check_circle Build reusable backend services and APIs for AI functionality;
• check_circle Develop evaluation frameworks for model quality, retrieval quality, tool usage and task completion;
• check_circle Implement guardrails, output validation, access controls and hallucination mitigation;
• check_circle Monitor and improve reliability, latency, token consumption and infrastructure cost;
• check_circle Turn proofs of concept into secure and maintainable production solutions;
• check_circle Participate in technical discovery, estimation, architecture discussions, code reviews and documentation;
• check_circle Communicate with client-side engineers, product managers and non-technical stakeholders.

Basic qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience;
• At least 2 years of hands-on work with AI/ML or LLM-powered systems, including production or advanced commercial projects;
• Strong knowledge of Python and backend software engineering practices;
• Practical experience with at least one commercial or open-source LLM ecosystem;
• Hands-on experience building RAG applications or AI agents;
• Understanding of embeddings, vector search, prompt and context engineering, tool calling and structured outputs;
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs;
• Experience with SQL and at least one NoSQL or vector database;
• Experience with Docker and at least one major cloud platform;
• Ability to write testable, maintainable and observable production code;
• Understanding of AI security, privacy, evaluation and responsible AI practices;
• English level B2 or higher;
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a remote international team.
