We are looking for a bright AI Engineer to join our Life Science Engineering team based in **Louvain-la-Neuve

As a AI Engineer, you will join our Engineering department to build and scale the AI capabilities that are integrated directly into our customer-facing platforms and services.
What you'll do:
- Designing, constructing, and implementing generative AI features, including agentic workflows and RAG pipelines, for N-SIDE's digital platforms and tools
- Managing the integration and orchestration of foundation models, ranging from proprietary solutions to self-hosted open-source alternatives like Llama or Qwen
- Developing secure retrieval systems and vector databases that link our internal clinical data to Large Language Model capabilities
- Setting up automated evaluation frameworks to ensure high output quality, factual accuracy, and reliable instruction adherence for all AI features
- Architecting robust prompt systems and safety guardrails to maintain reliability and consistency within our production environments
- Taking responsibility for the economic efficiency and scalability of GenAI services by monitoring latency, token usage, and overall throughput
- Partnering with product managers and domain specialists to convert complex business needs into effective, production-ready AI solutions
- Educating engineering teams on generative AI standards and methods for developing applications using non-deterministic models
About you:
- You bring over three years of professional engineering background, including at least one to two years dedicated to shipping Generative AI and LLM solutions into production environments
- You hold a master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field
- Advanced programming skills in Python (or TypeScript/Java), with the ability to maintain rigorous codebases
- Practical expertise with current GenAI orchestration frameworks and vector database technologies
- A deep grasp of core software engineering principles, encompassing testing, version control, and CI/CD workflows
- Excellent communication skills with the capacity to clarify technical model behaviors and trade-offs for various stakeholders
- You have a great team spirit, sense of initiative and responsibility over the products you deliver
- You are fluent in English, other languages are a plus
- Experience in SaaS products or enterprise software is a plus
